Morrinsville Community House runs two women's programmes, Safe Relationships and Open Souls.
Safe Relationships programme is run one-to-one and is provided free of charge (certain criteria apply). The programme is a confidential programme for women that explores the development of beliefs and behaviours that keep women trapped in unhealthy relationships. The programme is open to women over the age of 18 years who have experienced domestic violence or abuse. Safe Relationships programme:
Explores the development of beliefs and behaviours that shape our relationships
Brings an understanding to 'why we do what we do'
Teaches strategies for developing and maintaining safe relationships
Educates on power in relationships and its impact on decision making
Builds safe 'parenting apart' practices
Open Souls: A Movement for Women is a group programme (approx 5-7 participants) and is provided free of charge (certain criteria apply). Open Souls was inspired by a need for togetherness and connection. She has now transformed into a space that has been developed by women for women acknowledging the unique stories that each of us possess. Open Souls ensures a safe space to pause and connect through kōrero and activities back to ourselves and to others in a way that fuels self-worth and self-determination. Finding time to figure out who we are in the chaos of what we call ‘our lives’ requires expression, trust and faith in our own power to navigate it all. The rights to Open Souls: A Movement for Women are owned by Āio Manaaki Ltd.
The Open Souls programme is run regularly during the year. For details on when the next programme will run please contact Community House on 07 889 5355.
